Hello!

My name is Anniket Mohalik, and I have a deep passion for art, design, and all things creative. In my free time, I enjoy playing badminton.

From a young age, my life has been a constant journey of exploration and adaptation. As I changed schools about five times due to my father's job transfers, I traveled to different places, each time making new friends and immersing myself in new environments. Through this, I found solace and consistency in creativity—whether it was drawing, painting, or craft. Art became my language, a medium through which I could express myself.

Alongside my creative pursuits, I developed an interest in technology. By the end of my schooling, I found myself at a crossroads, trying to find a path that combined both these passions. Architecture appeared to be the perfect blend of the technical and creative, so I chose to pursue it and joined the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Delhi.

However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, as classes shifted online, I had the opportunity to engage with other creative fields like animation and graphic design. While I enjoyed architecture, I realized it wasn't the perfect fit. Something was missing. I began discussing my thoughts with close friends, and many suggested that I explore design as a career. This advice prompted deeper research, leading me to discover IDC at IIT Bombay.

The interdisciplinary nature of IDC, where I could explore various facets of design, appealed to me. Upon joining, I immersed myself in different fields, experimenting with animation, graphic design, and more. A turning point came when a senior introduced me to Interaction Design. Intrigued, I asked to join one of his projects, and he kindly allowed me to do so. That project was a revelation—I found a discipline that not only combined my love for creativity and technology but also allowed me to engage deeply with users, using empathy to solve problems.

Since then, I’ve focused on honing my skills in interaction design, and each project has been a learning experience. I have discovered that this is the field where my passion for creativity, technology, and human-centered design all come together. It’s a discipline that pushes me to innovate while staying connected to the people I design for.

With a clear sense of direction, I am eager to continue my journey in design, and I am excited to see where it takes me next.
